This time of year always makes me wonder: what is the real reason for this season?
If you’re a Christian then you know the whole story behind Christmas and why we celebrate. Every year we’re thankful in November for Thanksgiving, and then when Christmas rolls around we’re jolly and full of the Christmas spirit, seeming to forget the gratitude of the past season very quickly.
I like Thanksgiving just as much as the next person, but I think we should take it a step further and be thankful everyday, especially this year.
With the health pandemic, the crazy weather and storms we had, and the schools opening and closing. Lots of people didn’t make it this year, and many people who did make it are still struggling through all the changes that happened to their families and businesses.
As crazy as 2020 has been, I’m thankful for my health, faith and my wonderful family. We are so fortunate and blessed to be where we are. As this new year rolls around, through all of the noise and bustle of the holidays, I just try to look around my life and see the good every day, and appreciate what I have.
I wish you all the best this season. All the joy and blessings that come with this holiday, and hope in a better and brighter year to come.
