3 Tips for Realtors to Generate Listings

It’s been just over one year since COVID shut down the world. At this time a year ago, no one knew or could have predicted what was going to happen. 

The real estate industry, as well as many other businesses, had to roll with the punches and adapt to the massive changes in their respective markets. 

During this time, I saw two different types of real estate agents. On one hand there were agents who adapted, made changes and had record numbers, and on the other hand there were agents who simply paused due to fear (and are still catching up). 

Although it’s been a year since the pandemic hit, in the real estate industry we’re dealing with historically low housing inventory like no one has ever seen before and listings are hard to come by. This is why it’s more important now than ever for people in the real estate industry to start generating more listings.

Here are 3 tips to help you out if you’re in the position of looking for more homes to sell!

1) Reference your past client list and send them video CMA's to explain what is going on in the market. 

Chances are most people outside of the real estate industry are not aware of how the market looks right now. Getting in touch with old clients is great because you are reaching out to warm leads who probably had a great time working with you the first time and wouldn’t mind getting your help again. Creating videos to send out positions you as a professional and gives value to your leads without doing a hard sell. Videos are also easy to share across platforms, which will give you more exposure as well if your clients share online.

2) Showcase your expertise

Again this positions you as an expert and builds trust between you and your clients. The more professional you are and the more value you provide, the better your chances are of getting referrals or repeat-clients from the past. Share things that help your clients save time, offer a great user experience, and provide informative and useful information to your clients that make their life easier.

3) Focus on Systems and Processes

When a market is as crazy as it is right now it's easy to get overwhelmed. Make sure you are focusing on the systems and processes you have in place and rely on those around you.

Focus is key here. Don’t let the numbers get you down and overwhelmed. If you have some down-time right now, take a look at the systems you have in place for your clients. Are your processes effective? Do your processes go smoothly? Is there anything you can improve to help give your clients a better experience?
