Have you set clear goals? Where are you going in your business?
In the real estate world, I see many agents stuck in a certain mindset when it comes to doing their business. These agents are stuck in the present: worrying about how much they’re going to make from one deal alone, without looking at the big picture. They get stuck in a cycle of chasing sales and jumping at every phone call, creating a disorganized and chaotic style of doing business. Agents stuck in this pattern usually don’t ever have time to work on their business, and don’t control their time well.
If that sounds like you, don’t worry!
What if you were to pause and take a step back to figure out what you really want? And don’t just focus on a dollar-amount. Think and focus on what you would DO with all the money you are trying to make once you reach your definition of success. How do you feel? What kinds of things are you doing? How are you enjoying your life?
This is what many people call their, “Why,” and it helps dramatically improve your mindset. It might sound cheesy, but it's true. Your motivations and mindset drive you more than you think.
Once you figure out your why, it will be easier to determine what to work on and how to build your systems more effectively in your business. Maybe you need to streamline your processes, raise your rates, build a more effective team.
When you’re stuck, you’re trapped and can’t break through the ceiling to your success, no matter what level you or your business are at. You could be a beginner or a pro, but if you don’t have goals and effective systems in place to reach your goals, you’re not going to grow your business. You’ll run out of time, which will discourage you from getting new business and could potentially hurt your chances at getting referrals.
My advice to business owners and real estate agents who are just getting started is to set your goals and plan your systems now. Get in the mindset where everything you do is effectively making those dreams and goals happen, and watch how much more easily your business grows.
