If you’re running a business, whether you’re in real estate or working to build another business of your own, chances are you’re working pretty hard. So many business owners struggle with working both in their business and doing business, which is a lot to juggle. This leads to burn-out or just stagnation in the growth of the company.

According to Forbes, two-thirds of small business owners are personally responsible for three or more of the following parts of running their business: Operations, finance, sales, marketing, human resources, customer service, product development, or IT. Managing just one of those departments can be a full-time job for one person or even a team of people. While it may save time in the short run to have one person try and handle three or four of these departments, it's unrealistic in the long run to expect any kind of growth or success.

Engaging in business is really all about switching your focus. You can still hustle and work hard, but you do it with a different approach. When you engage in business, you put a strong emphasis on client relationships, and less of an emphasis on your numbers or the money you’re making. 

Why is this important?

By putting your focus on client relationships, and treating each one like a million dollar client, you’re creating a kind of magic. Your clients will have a great experience, feel valued, and will be very likely to refer you to their family and friends. It’s a free marketing tool, but also an authentic one that builds your brand rapidly. 

Treating your clients with dignity and respect and staying true to your word is everything: both in business and in life. You can be making all the money in the world, but if you’re treating clients like numbers and not building true relationships at all, then you’re not going to find true success.
