Although we seem to have adjusted as a community and society, this period of time has really hit small businesses and those in the real estate industry hard. COVID has completely changed the landscape when it comes to every day business operations. This means now more than ever, it’s essential to have and maintain your client database. 

Maintaining a database is one of the most important things you will do in business.

Your business can’t run without clients! Here are 3 ways you can both build your database and maintain your lists at this time.

1. Manage client relationships

When is the last time you checked in with all of your customers? Right now a great way to start a conversation would be to ask how everyone is doing, and how they are handling the current health crisis. Leave sales talk completely out of the conversation. Be genuine and try to really show genuine interest in the well being of the people you are reaching out to. Authenticity goes a long way, and showing that you care helps strengthen your relationships as well as the trust that clients have in your company. Business owners who focus only on sales or buying leads instead of relationships with their clients do not make it at the end of the day.

2. Engage your clients

A huge change that has happened in the past several months is the shift to digital connections. In a time where social distancing is the responsible thing to do, all sorts of business operations have shifted to a digital space. Virtual meetings and video content are essential right now, and are great ways to engage your customers. Find ways to make information easily accessible to your clients, and change your processes to make everything as safe as possible. This again will build trust between your company and the customers in your database, which goes a long way in growing your business.

3. Stay organized

 What platforms do you use to reach out to your clients? Where is all of their information stored? Lists can get outdated and messy very quickly if they are not maintained. Make sure your lists are updated and cleaned up, and make sure that you are consistently reaching out to the people listed there. Organization makes communication so much more efficient and helps your business grow in the long run, because you will not only be in constant contact with your clients, but you will also be able to track valuable data and analytics in the process.
